Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC): Explained

The Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is an agreement among participating US states that allows registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical/vocational nurses (LPNs/VN) to have one multistate license, permitting them to practice in both their home state and other compact states.

Benefits for Staffing Agencies

For travel nursing and locum tenens agencies, the NLC drastically reduces the time to placement. Instead of waiting weeks or months for a new state license, nurses with a compact license can be deployed immediately to any participating state.
